Comer - James Frank Stainback, Jr., 86, died April 17, 2007.
A native of Atlanta, he was the son of the late Dr. James Frank Stainback, Sr., a prominent Atlanta dentist, and Willie Mae Speers Stainback, dietician for Garden Hills Grammar School. Frank began a 50 year banking career with First National Bank of Atlanta, retiring from Commercial Bank, Crawford, in 1989.
Memorial services will be Friday, April 20, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST, with Rev. Benson Bottoms officiating. Interment will be at Athens Memory Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Day Stainback; children, Cathy Elizabeth Underwood, of Newnan, J. Frank Stainback, III, of Pooler, Diane Stainback Burns and Lee Ann Stainback-Crumley, of Comer; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to: Odyssey Health Care, 575 Research Drive, Athens, GA 30605 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 AM until service time.
