Hull - Joseph Lumpkin "J.L." Berryman, 86, died March 23, 2006.
A native and longtime resident of Clarke County, he was a son of the late Charlie Coy and Sarah Annice Martin Berryman. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Willie Mae Busbin Berryman; two sisters, Catherine Tandberg and Pauline Berryman; three brothers, Clarence Berryman, Johnny Berryman, and Vance Berryman. Mr. Berryman was retired from Classic City Beverage Company and was a member of Grove Chapel Congregational Holiness Church.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 26, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Rev. Raymond Duncan will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Colleen Calloway Berryman; two children, Dennis Berryman of Hartwell, GA and Teresa Berryman Thompson of Social Circle, GA; three stepchildren, Wanda Strickland of Hull, Donna Ward of Athens, and Danny Stewart of Colbert; brother, Bill Berryman, Sr. of Greensboro, GA; four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; one great granddaughter; four step-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grove Chapel Congregational Holiness Church.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
