Isabelle Lovinia (Harris) Harris

Isabelle L. Harris, 88, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016. A native and lifelong resident of Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Phillip Harris and Gertrude Smith Harris and mother to the late Jimmie Lee Turner. She was a piano teacher, had also worked for the Oglethorpe County School System as a secretary and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Following her work with the Oglethorpe County School System, she gave years of service at Millstone Baptist Church, Vesta Baptist Church and Bethany Baptist Church as the pianist. Serving as church pianist was one of her greatest joys in life. Survivors include her son: Allen Bridges of Lexington; sister: Nancy Lee Brown of Atlanta; grandchildren: Rachel Elizabeth Weaver, Joseph Allen Bridges, Kerrie (Scott) Gilbert Carey and Jake Gilbert, great grandchildren: Nora Lou Weaver, JT Weaver, Isabelle Reid Bridges Alyssa Gilbert and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 3PM at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Bruce officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church.
