Irvin Richard Escoe, also known as “Buckshot”, died April 13, 2021. He was born to Annie Mae Sorrells and Edd Escoe on July 15, 1927, both now deceased. He owed and operated Dunn Trucking Co. which he inherited from his grandfather, Parker Dunn. In 1949 to 1960, Dunn Trucking was the largest trucking company in Athens at the time. He sold the company and worked for Adams Motor Express until he retired in 2008.
He is survived by his wife Joann T. Escoe for 68 years; two sons and daughter in law: Gary and Mary Escoe of Cumming, GA and Michael “Mike” and Alanda Escoe of Watkinsville, GA; six grandchildren and their spouses and several great grandchildren that were all the love of his life.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 10AM until 11:30AM and a private graveside service will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park with Dr. Luis Ortiz of Young Harris Memorial Methodist Church, where Irvin was a lifetime member, will preside at the service.
Irvin will be missed by his humor and laughter. It was so major with him, Honest and real. His laughter is now silent forever, but his memory will never be forgotten.
The family will graciously accept donations to Young Harris Memorial United Methodist Church.
