Irvin H. Austin Jr

Irvin Harem Austin, Jr., 74, died March 11, 2016. Born in Atlanta, GA, Mr. Austin was the son of the late Irvin Harem Austin, Sr. and Maude Earline Spivey. Irvin retired from the Atlanta Police Department in 1992 as a Sergeant and also worked as a security officer for Suntrust Bank following his retirement from the Police Department. He served in the US Marine Corps. Survivors include his children: Elizabeth Austin Vardi of Chapin, SC, Melinda Austin Ward of Bogart, GA, Robert Marshall Austin of Woodstock; sister: Mary Pauline Holliday; brother: Robert E. Hendrix and eight grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 2PM at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
