Athens, GA - Ian Brussack, the son of Bob and Pat Brussack of Athens, died November 4, 2011. He was sixteen.
Ian attended Cedar Shoals High School and Classic City High School. He was a sophomore. He was a member of the JROTC Raider Team and the JROTC Drill Team at Cedar Shoals.
A lifelong Athenian, Ian attended the Waseca Learning Environment, Barrow Elementary School, and Hilsman Middle School. He also was homeschooled by his father.
Ian was an accomplished skateboarder and a member of the skateboarding community at SPOA, the Skatepark of Athens. He earned a black belt in Taekwondo from the Athens Taekwondo Center under Master Chang Bae Yi. He participated in youth activities at Central Baptist Church.
Ian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Julian and Elsie Brussack, aunt, Patty Richardson and uncle, David Lockwood.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his grandparents, Henry and Hattie Lockwood of Greensburg, LA; aunts and uncles, Harlan and Janis Poche of Geismar, LA and Jerrold Martin Brussack of Buford, and other loving extended family members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, November 9, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Graveside services will be private.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Nuci's Space.
