Winterville - Hoyt Lee Young, 88, husband of Grace LaCount Young died Saturday, October 8, 2005 at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta.
Born in Arnoldsville, GA he was the son of the late Marshall Elbert and Elsie Dockery Young. He was preceded in death by his first wife Georgia Berry Young, brother, Roy Young and sister Gladys Young. He was a member of Arnoldsville Baptist Church where he was a Deacon Emeritus, Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop #71 and he loved gardening and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, sons, Larry L. Young of Greenville, Hoyt Lynn Young of Winterville, sisters, Frances Young Houser of Lanier Gardens, Athens, brother, Robert Young of Maitland, FL, grandchildren, Alicia Young of Alpharetta, Andrea Seemueller of Staunton, VA, Spc. Adam Young of Heidelberg, Germany, Ryan Young of Athens, Joseph Young of Winterville, and Joshua Young of Winterville.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at 11AM at Lord & Stephens EAST Chapel with Revs. Brian Whitfield, Larry Davidson, and Nathan Palmer officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, October 10, 2005 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Thomas LaCount, Franklin LaCount, Doug Houser, Ryan Young, Joseph Young and Joshua Young. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family has requested that memorials be made to Arnoldsville Cemetery Fund, c/o Grace Young, 205 Owensby Mill Rd., Winterville, GA 30683 or Arnoldsville Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 239, Arnoldsville, GA 30619.
