Homer Rufus Hansford

Homer Rufus Hansford was born August 14, 1936 and celebrated his heavenly birthday on August 14, 2013.
A native of Oconee County, Homer was the son of the late Agnes Maxey and Ernest S. Hansford, Sr.
He was a member of the Watkinsville First Christian Church, serving as Elder Emeritus and was retired from Oconee State Bank as Asst. Vice President.
Homer served in the U. S. Navy with Naval Intelligence from 1958 to 1961 and was stationed in Japan.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, T. B. Hansford and Ernest Hansford, Jr. and three sisters, Dorothy Hayes, Marjorie Hewell and Rebecca Eidson.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Crawford Hansford; two sons, David Mark (Lisa) Hansford of Albertville, AL and Donald W. (Kelly) Hansford of Watkinsville; daughter, Kellie Susanne (Howard) Parker of Clarkesville, GA; six grandchildren, Austin, Allison and Andrew Hansford of Albertville, AL, Emily Anne and Nancy Belle Hansford of Watkinsville, and Cody Parker of Clarkesville, GA.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST, with Rev. Doug Ivey and Dr. Franklin Shumake officiating. Entombment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Lloyd Hansford, Sammy Hansford, Steve Hansford, Mac Hayes, Larry Hayes, Ernie Hayes, Andy Hayes and Tommy Hewell. Honorary pallbearers will be Coffee Club Friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
