Madison, GA - Hobert D. Tanksley, 82, passed away February 25, 2008.
A native of Oconee County, GA, he was a son of the late Dock and Maude Truelove Tanksley and was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Spratlin Tanksley and daughter, Sharon Epps. He retired from Westclox after thirty-five years and was active with the Morgan County Senior Center. Mr. Tanksley was a member of Joy Baptist Church and the Civitan Club.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 28, 2008, at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST, with Revs. Eric Buffington and Hubert Hammonds officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include three daughters, Sheila Sargent of Arnoldsville, GA, Selena Hall of Madison, GA and Dot Silman of Greenville, GA; three sisters, Memphis Eason of Conyers, GA, Nellie Hammonds of Winder, GA and Ruby Thrasher of Commerce; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
