Athens - Howard Junior Stewart, 83, died March 15, 2007.
Born in Oglethorpe County, he was the son of the late James Elijah and Nay Gunter Stewart and widower of Lena Helen Wages Stewart. He was a retired carpenter and member of Hull Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 11:00AM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST, with Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include his children, Carolyn Mize (Wayne), of Athens, Jerry Stewart (Charlotte), of Gadsden, Ala. and Beverly Stewart-Slay (Gale), of Bogart; sisters, Frances Duckworth, of Colbert, Ruth Human and Sara Wages, of Athens; brothers, Edgar Stewart, of Hull and Jimmy Stewart, of Hondo, Texas; grandchildren, Ken Mize, Tara Stewart, Wesley Stewart, Chris Mize and Candi Bridges; great-grandchildren, Scotty Phillips, Rick Tiller, Amber Mize, Brittany Mize, Eric Epps, Taylor Mize and Larry Stewart.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
