Hershel Lovern, 86, died Monday, August 18, 2014.
A native of High Shoals, GA he was the son of the late Jefferson Davis Lovern and Mary Smith Lovern. Hershel retired from Wellington Puritan Mill as an electrician. He was a member of High Shoals Methodist Church, always enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and truly loved watching his grandchildren play softball and baseball. Mr. Lovern was always willing to help anyone in need, night or day.
Survivors include his daughters: Sara (Wayne) Barrett, Carolyn (Jeff) Meeler; grandchildren: Jennifer (Jason) Mize, Justin (Kim) Meeler and Bridget Meeler; great grandchildren: Tyler and Trey Mize.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 11AM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel with Rev. Wayman Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Family Life Enrichment Center.
