Herbert Marlyn Hutchins passed away on September 12, 2010.
Mr. Hutchins was born August 15, 1921 to the late Earnest L. and Viola Turner Hutchins. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Brenda Teal and Rebecca Haggard, two grandchildren, Jonathan and Joy Hutchins and a sister, Earnestine Adams.
Mr. Hutchins was self employed and held other jobs during his lifetime. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church since 1949, where he was a deacon for many years and also served as a Sunday School teacher and held other offices.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Friendship Baptist Church with Revs. Larry Elliott and Dayton Logan officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-nine years, Loutrelle Chandler Hutchins; son, Michael D. (Cathy) Hutchins; son-in-law, Robert Haggard; grandchildren, Jennifer Ward, Joshua (Meagan) Hutchins, Clinton (Erin) Haggard; Russell Haggard; four great grandchildren.
Deacons of Friendship Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice House, 1660 Jennings Mill Road, Bogart, GA 30622.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
