Henry "Danny" Daniels Minor, Jr.

Henry Daniels Minor, Jr. 85, husband of the late Berkeley Smith Minor, died on Friday, August 11, 2023. Born in Macon, Ga., he was the son of the late Henry Daniels Minor, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Creecy Minor Clark. Survivors include his two children: Napier Minor of Athens, Ga. and Marion Mullinax of Watkinsville, Ga.; siblings: Jo Brokenshire and David (Brenda) Minor and four grandchildren: Celeste (Tushar Gupta) Minor, Christina Minor, Paul Mullinax and James Mullinax. He played football at Lanier High as a running back. Dan was one of the 1955’s: All American, All-Region, All-Southern. Danny Minor was inducted in the Macon Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.

He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point with a BS in engineering and a minor in Business. He served in the US Army In Germany working with Hawk missiles. He worked at Dupont, Georgia Sportswear, Smith Barney as a broker and member of the Chairman’s counsel. Dan was an avid golfer, birder, enjoyed art and loved to travel. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Gregory the Great Episcopal Church.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials be made to the UGA Foundation at The Georgia Museum of Art, Attn: Memorial Gifts honoring Dan Minor, 90 Carlton St, Athens, GA 30602.
