Henry Joseph Rogers

Hull, GA - Henry Joseph Rogers, 63, died November 24, 2011.
A native of Oglethorpe County, he was the son of Laura Nell Rogers of Colbert and the late Duke I. Rogers and was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Nation Rogers. Mr. Rogers was a U.S. Army veteran of Viet Nam where he received the Purple Heart. He was retired vehicle maintenance manager with Georgia Power Company after 43 years of service.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his daughters, Jennifer Rogers Crawford of Colbert and Robin Rogers Miller (Lawrence) of Statham; brother, Billy Joel Rogers (Sheri) of Colbert; grandchildren, Lauren, Kayla, Elana, Kyle, Kelsey and Anna Beth; great grandson, Brantley; mother-in-law, Margie Martin Nation; sister-in-law, Betty Bullock; brothers-in-law, Roy Cecil Nation (Shirley) and Rev. Herman Nation (Patsy) and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Word of Life Congregational Holiness Church with Revs. Herman Nation and Carlton Shelton officiating. Interment will be in Welcome Avenue Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Crawford, Chris Heider, Raleigh Carey, Ronnie Doolittle,
Joe Perry, Casey Garrison and Terry Mabry.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Program in memory of Henry Rogers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Lord and Stephens, EAST is in charge of arrangements.
