Henry Philip Morris, Sr., 67, died February 25, 2005.
Born in Tennille, GA, he was the son of the late Henry Chapman Morris and Mary Grace Underwood Morris. Mr. Morris has made his home in Athens since 1963 and was retired from Philip Morris and Associates, Inc., which he founded in 1988. He was an avid outdoorsman and a friend of Billís. Mr. Morris was a member of Campus View Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Campus View Church of Christ with Ministers Steve Watson and Vance Sims officiating. Interment will be in Oconee Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Terry, Hank Joiner, Tom Harris, Dick Daniels, Brannon Scott and Michael Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rex Ross and Jim Hudson.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Cary Morris; sons, Philip Morris, Jr., MD (Myra) and Michael C. Morris (Cathy) of Athens; Daniel K. Morris (Dana) of Bishop and David W. Morris of Sugar Hill, GA; sister, Kathleen Morris Hodges of Oconee, GA, half-brother, Perry Morris of Berthoud, CO; half-sister, Patti Roberts of Seneca, SC; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or American Lung Association.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
