Bowman - Henry (Shorty) Jones, 77, died February 8, 2006.
A native of Wilkinson County, GA, he was a son of the late Ada Huff and James Dock Jones, and the widower of Merlene Allen Jones. He was also preceded in death by a son, Henry Coyle Jones, Jr. and two brothers, J.D. Jones and Columbus Jones. He was formerly employed with The McGregor Company and was a member of Fork Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Sunday, February 12, 2006, at 1:30 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, Danielsville. Interment will be in Danielsville Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include four children, Polly and Marcus Hall of Bowman, Hettie Lowery of Ila, Jesse Jones of Nicholson, Dan and Liz Jones of Elberton; adopted daughter and her husband, Sylvia and Jim Stogden of Hull; special friend, Doris Ashworth of Bowman; two sisters, Mazell Ingram of Piedmont, SC and Onzell Escoe of Athens; two brothers, Watson Jones of Piedmont, SC and Philip Jones of Danielsville; five grandchildren, Joshua and Leighanne Lowery, Brandy Jones, Melissa Jones, D. J. Syfrett and Danielle Jones; one great grandson, Tyler "Bettlebug" Jones.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
