Henry Lee Geeter

Arnoldsville - Henry Lee Geeter, passed away June 27, 2011 at Athens Regional Medical Center after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Yvonee Burgess Geeter; his son, Dennis James Geeter; and daughter, Judy Ann Geeter. He was the last surviving child of William and Elizabeth Geeter. He served in the Korean War where he received the purple heart. After his military service was complete he worked for Anaconda Wire and Cable and General Cable; retiring in 1994.
His surviving children are: Dwight Lamar (Deborah), Kenneth Lee, Jeffery Wayne (Lisa); grandchildren: James Edward (Nola) Geeter, John Vernon Keith, Laura Linda Bullock, James Lee Geeter, Amberly Grace Geeter, Michael Joseph Hicks Geeter and Randy (Abby) Moore; great grandchildren: Kimberly Ann Massey, Casey Lee Massey, Tanner McCoy Keith and Shawn Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with the Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Burial will follow at Whitehall Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8p.m. Wednesday and the funeral.
