Athens - Henry Chandler, 87, husband of Lillian Connally Chandler, died Monday, January 05, 2009 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 11AM at Athens Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Curtis Alewine, Sammy Alewine, Dennis Alewine, Steve Alewine, Billy Mize and Brad Hill.
A native of Athens, he was the son of the late Joseph and Florence Eberhart Chandler. In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his sisters: Helen Hardman and Hazel Huff. He retired from S.T. Alewine Auto Slavage after more than 40 years, served his country in the US Army during WWII and loved fishing.
Survivors in addition to his wife include, daughters: Ann (Johnny) Chandler Seagraves of Athens, Gail Allen of Athens; grandchildren: Cindy (Dr. John Bankenship) Blankenship of Watkinsville, Wesley (Peggy) Seagraves of Atlanta, Kristi (Brad) Hill of Smyrna, Travis (Misti) Lester of Athens; great grandchildren: Lindsey and Sarah Blankenship and Caroline Seagraves.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2009 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
