Henry Clyde Chambers

Henry Clyde Chambers, 88, husband of the late Grace Chambers, died Sunday, December 6, 2015. Born in Wilkes County, he was the son of the late Mattie and Claude Chambers. He was also preceded in death by sisters: Margaret Alewine and Evelyn Wilbanks and grandson, Evan Escoe. Mr. Chambers retired from Gold Kist and was a member of Briarwood Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping, CB Radios and going to the Jockey Lot. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his children: Milford (Doris) Chambers, Charles Chambers, Jimmy Chambers, Billy Joe Chambers, William (Sinde) Chambers, Teresa Chambers, Tammy O'Kelley, Elaine (Rickey) Johnson; brothers: David Chambers, Claude (Jeanette) Chambers, Jr.; eighteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 1PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel. Pallbearers will be Alex Chambers, Kevin Lee, Lee Hooper, Jayson Escoe, Bantam Chambers and Kevin Chambers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the funeral home.
