Hendrix Butler "Bud" Wiley Jr

H.B. "Bud" Wiley Jr., age 68 died August 31, 2012 after a brief illness. He will be missed by family members and many friends.


Born in Franklin County but raised in Stephens County, Mr. Wiley was the son of the late Hendrix Butler Wiley Sr. Mr. Wiley was a member of Friendship Presbyterian Church. Mr. Wiley was a dairy farmer and breeder of registered Holsteins at Rose Creek Farm in Watkinsville for over 20 years. After retiring from the dairy business, he was a real estate broker with Southern Heritage Land Co. and served on the Board of Directors of Walton EMC and of Oglethorpe Power.

Funeral services will be held Monday Sept. 3, 2012 at 11:00am at Friendship Presbyterian Church with Dr. William C. Mounts officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetary at 2:00pm.

Survivors include wife of 11 years Elizabeth Carroll Chrisler Wiley; mother Mildred Adair Wiley; children Susan Sherman, Gail Wiley, Tayler King, and Kyle King; grandson Blake Wiley.

Pallbearers will be Tayler King, Kyle King, Blake Wiley, Ashley Hayes, Hank Hayes, and Ed Adams.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Ga. Dairy Youth Foundation, Oconee County 4-H, or Friendship Presbyterian Church.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday Sept. 2, 2012 from 6-8pm.
