Helen Ross

Augusta - Mrs. Helen Jones Ross, 80, formerly of Winterville, passed away August 25, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta following a period of declining health. Mrs. Ross was born in Atlanta on July 18, 1931 to John W. and Annabelle Jones. She retired from BellSouth from the wire maintenance division. She was a member of the Winterville 1st Baptist Church and the AT&T Pioneers. Mrs. Ross is preceded in death by her husband Ken Ross Sr.; daughter, Betty Pace; brothers, Harold Jones and Wesley Jones. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry C. & Louise Rice; sisters-in-law, Jimmie Jones and Lucy Jones; 3 grandchildren, Joshua Williamson, Robert Pace and Amanda Pace; 1 great-grandchild, Eli Williamson, and several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 28 at the funeral home from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Services will follow in the chapel at 2 p.m. with Dr. Phil Wages and the Rev. Palmer Rehberg officiating. Burial will be at Athens Memory Gardens.
