Helen Wheeler Foster, 86, of 940 South Enota Drive, died March 5, 2005.
A native of Clarke County, she was a daughter of the late Marcus Cleveland Wheeler and Lillie Catherine Hawkins Wheeler. She was preceded in death by a sister, Willie Gladys Wheeler Weatherly.
She was a graduate of Athens High School and was retired from the Agricultural Engineering Department of the University of Georgia after thirty-nine years of service. She was a member and past president of the Athens chapter of Professional Secretaries International and the author of many poems. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Athens and Jenkins Sunday School Class.
Graveside services will be Monday, March 7, 2005, at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include a sister, Frances Cooper of Gainesville; nephews, Robert Weatherly, Jr. and wife, Jo of Gainesville, Roald Cooper of Alexandria, VA; serveral great nieces and nephews; three special great-great nieces and nephew, Carley Miranda English, Lily Catherine Massey and William Blake Wortham.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
