Farmington, GA - Hazel Colquitt Murrow, 90, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2008.
A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Murrow was the daughter of the late John Marion and Annie Bugg Colquitt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph David Murrow, one brother, 3 sisters and a great grandson, Elijah Luke Oesterle.
Mrs. Murrow was a graduate of Young Harris College and the University of Georgia. She taught school in Oconee County for 37 years before her retirement. She was a member of Ashford Memorial Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Henry T. "Buddy" Murrow (Judy) and a daughter, Mary Jo Wright, all of Farmington; grandchildren, Dennis Wright, Jr. (Angela) of Albany,
Jodi Wright Simpson (Jason) of Smryna, Jennifer Wright of Santa Barbara, CA, Leigh Murrow Knapp (Joseph) of Farmington, Dr. Jonathan Murrow (Laurel) of Atlanta, Thomas Murrow of Brunswick and Allison Murrow Oesterle (Paul) of Watkinsville;
11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, WEST with Rev. Tom Cochran officiating. Interment will be in Farmington Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Jonathan Murrow, Thomas Murrow, Dennis Wright, Jr., Paul Oesterle, Jason Simpson and Willie G. Laguins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM.
Memorials may be made to Ashford Memorial Methodist Church Building Fund, Watkinsville, GA.
