Harry Thomas Catchpole, age 102 of Bogart (Athens), formerly of New York City, died June 10, 2015. He was preceded in death in 2012 by his wife, Cecily, to whom he was married for 63 years. He is survived by his son, Lawrence and his wife Theresa, their children Lauren (Zack), Christina, Jessica and Spenser of Roswell; daughter, Anne and her husband Ralph Bryant, their children Cullen (Nicole) and Marianne (Eric) of Madison County; and 5 great grandchildren. We also want to give special thanks to his care giver Grace for her kindness and extra care that she provided over the last several years. He was a WWII veteran having served the European Theater of Operations with the 9th Traffic Regulation Group, Third Army. He was the recent recipient of several medals for his WWII service including the French Legion of Honor. He was a member of the National and Georgia Trusts for Historic Preservation. He was dedicated to God, his country, family and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 11:30 at the UGA Catholic Center with a reception immediately following at the church. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the cancer research charity of your choice. Lord and Stephens, East is in charge of arrangements.
