Harold Lewis Benton Sr

Harold Lewis Benton, Sr., 81, died November 16, 2012.
A native of Gainesville, GA, he was a son of the late William Lewis and Marietta Azbell Benton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Jordan Benton, son, William Lee "Bill" Benton and sister, Billie Crowden. Mr. Benton retired from Athens Coca-Cola Bottling Company after twenty-seven years and also worked for Newton Manufacturing for over twenty-five years. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp with service during the Korean War.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Christian Life Worship Center with Revs. John Ingham and Brian Williams officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include two children, Harold L. "Buddy" Benton, Jr. of Lawrenceville and David J. Benton of Jefferson; four grandchildren, Jesse D. Benton, Samuel D. Benton, Emma G. Benton and Christopher W. Benton.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Benton, Samuel Benton, Christopher Benton, Mark Walters, Mack Cates, David Benton and Harold L. "Buddy" Benton, Jr.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Christian Life Fellowship Church or Gideon's International.
