Hannah Argo Smith

Hannah Argo Smith, 86, died on Friday, August 14, 2015. Mrs. Smith was born in Lexington, Ga January 3, 1929 to the late William and Hassie Argo.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Stevens Grove Baptist Church since 1949 where she had served as the piano player for nearly forty years. Mrs. Smith was a Navy wife and lived in numerous places over her husband's twenty year service before returning to her home place in Lexington. She worked with her aunt at Couch's clothing store for several years before becoming the lunchroom supervisor at Oglethorpe County High School where she served for many years.

Hannah was preceded in death by her husband John Smith of 61 years and son, Mike Smith; brothers, Leslie, Lloyd, Talmadge, Dorsey, Ray and JC Argo.

Survivors include her sons and their wives; Bill and Vicki Smith; James and Kathy Smith; and David and Diane Smith; Ten grandchildren: Heather and Brian Tinnel, Jordan Smith, Sarah and Bryan Ackerman, Stephanie Smith, Amanda and Collier Moon, Andrew and Erin Smith, Hannah Smith, Clara Smith, Noah Smith, and Elijah Smith and ten great grandchildren: two brothers; Pete (Betty) Argo, Eugene Argo and three additional sisters in-law; Marcia, Jennie and Lula Alice Argo.

The family will receive visitors at Lord and Stephens, East, Tuesday, August 18th from 5 to 7PM. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 19th at 11AM at Stevens Grove Baptist Church with the Reverends David Smith and Griff Carithers officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons.

Lord & Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
