Hallie Sue Dean, 91, of Athens passed away on February 14, 2022. Born on September 3, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Robert Watkins and Katie Pearl Watkins.
Sue was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW. She retired from Superior Pants, was the former owner of three package stores and later retired from Grandview. Sue loved casinos, beaches and was featured as an extra in the movie My Cousin Vinny.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Dupree Dean; son, Edward Sammy Dean; siblings, Pauline Watkins, Walter Watkins, Grady Watkins, J.C. Watkins.
Survivors include her, daughters, Elaine Scales (Robert), Gail Agnew (Dale); grandchildren, Jason Crawford (Tabitha), Molly Mathis (Jason), Evan Dean (Elizabeth), Allison Broom (Danielle), Dean Agnew; great grandchildren, Austin Mathis, Olivia Pearson (Hunter), Callie Crawford, Savannah Dean, Sebastian Broom; two great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 on 3:00 pm at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with Sal Merola officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Lord & Stephens East chapel.
