Athens - H. Elliott Smith, of Athens, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2006 at the Family Life Enrichment Center.
He was born in Athens, Ga. on June 3, 1931 to the late Sim and Gladys Spratlin Smith. He was also preceded in death by his wife; Patsy Smith. He was a member of Cornerstone Church of God. He graduated from Athens High School in 1949 and attended Hiwassee College and retired as a manager for a finance company.
Services will be Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 11:00 am, in the chapel, with the Rev. Scott Sheppard officiating. Burial will be at Winterville Cemetery.
Survivors include his four children: Steve E. and Debbie Smith of Watkinsville, Cindy S. and Terry Nunn of Jefferson, Phillip A. Smith of Watkinsville, and Kimberly S. and Stephen Stewart of Watkinsville. Two sisters: Jeanette Pruett of Nashville, Tn. and Mary Catherine Miller of Athens. Twelve grandchildren; Chad Woodall, Elliott, Bryson, Evan, Alexandria, and Keilee Smith, and Stephanie, Seth, Samuel, Sarah, Sawyer Stewart and Justin Nunn. One great-grandchild; Lenzia Nunn.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to the Cornerstone Church of God Building Fund or St. Mary's Hospice.
