Gurtie Eugene Alewine, 78, died May 26, 2010.
A native of Oconee County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Jewell and Maude Wilson Phillips and the widow of Otis Alewine.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST, with Rev. Danny Mundy officiating. Interment will be in Moon's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include six children, Larry (Glenda) Alewine of Griffin, GA, Catherine (Frank) Ballard of Gray, GA, Brenda Alewine of New, GA, Terry Alewine of Athens, GA, Donnie Alewine of Gray, GA, Judy Baker of Eatonton, GA; sister, Sarah McElroy of Danielsville, GA; Harry (Cheryle) Phillips of Watkinsville, GA; thirty grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the favorite charity.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
