Gregory Pierce

Gregory Lowry Pierce, 64, of Hull, passed away on November 30, 2022. A Christmas miracle, he was born on December 25, 1957. He was the son of the late Herman Lewis Pierce and Betty Jean Lowry Hilton.

Greg enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; taking them to the dirt track races, telling stories of his racing days, and building cars. He was always kind to strangers and could not resist giving a stray dog a home. He always named his favorite dogs Hooch or Bandit. He was a hamburger connoisseur who spent many nights bonding with his family over a juicy burger. Greg maintained a lifelong work ethic working many years as a diesel mechanic and truck driver. When he wasn’t working, he would go check on friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Pierce; daughters, Kristy Teems (Allen), Jennifer Hartzog (Paul), and step-son Kevin Rich; grandchildren, Oliver Pitman, Kenneth Hartzog, Samuel Hartzog, and Hyrum Hartzog.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Danielsville Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will follow at 1:00 pm at the Gallery at Athens Church. Lunch will be served during the celebration. In honor of Greg, please dress in casual clothing.
