rady Meadow Maxey, 81, of Lexington died August 5, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Born May 9, 1932, in Maxeys, GA he was the son of the late Judge Frank David and Lila Strozier Maxey. Mr. Maxey was a US Army Veteran have served during the Korean Conflict, and was retired from Ingram Sheet Metal Company. In addition to his parents, Mr. Maxey was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife, Betty, daughter Kelly Maxey, four sisters, Eleanor Simonds, Roberta McKinley, Franklyn Thornton, and Coma Bridges, and three brothers, Edward Maxey, Malcom Maxey, and Clifford Maxey. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Angie and Scott Franklin of Lexington, granddaughters Stephanie and Shanna Harris, grandson, Bryce Franklin, and great granddaughter, Paisley Perry; sister, Sue McKenney, and two brothers, Myron Maxey and Leonard Maxey, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11AM on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Clark Cemetery in Lexington with Rev. Brett Mask officiating. Flowers are optional or donations may be made to the Lexington Baptist Church Clark Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 302, Lexington, GA 30648. Lord and Stephens EAST is in charge of arrangements.
