Danielsville, GA - Henry Grady Echols, 82, died November 9, 2013.
Born in Clarke County, he was the son of the late Pat and Cumy Bridges Echols. After retiring from many years of retail sales, he worked for Lord and Stephens Funeral Home in Danielsville as long as his health would allow. He was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church, serving as church clerk for many years. He graduated from Danielsville High School and attended The University of Georgia on a FFA Scholarship. He represented Madison County as a State FFA Officer in 1948-1949. He was an avid gardener with a passion for growing and sharing his flowers with friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 11, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, Danielsville with Rev. Dayton Logan officiating. Interment will follow at Danielsville Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jennie Ruth Graham Echols, daughters; Gradine Fleeman (Bill), Winterville and Denise Echols, Danielsville; son, David Echols (Linda), Ila; grandchildren, Maria Gray (Frank), Chris Fleeman (Shannon), Heather Cabe (Will) and Hayden Echols; great grandchildren; Deacon Cabe, Keely, Jamie, and Cassie Gray, Kawon Bryant.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, November 10th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Madison County Agriculture Education Center, PO Box 807, Danielsville, GA, 30633 or Gideons International.
The family is at the residence of Denise Echols.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville is in charge of arrangements.
