Gloria Busbin Harrison

Winterville - Gloria Busbin Harrison passed away October 30, 2005 at Athens Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Charles Harrison and mother of the late Jeffrey Harrison.
Born in Clarke County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Winston and Estelle Gray Busbin. She was a graduate of Oglethorpe County High School and had attended Massey College in Atlanta. Mrs. Harrison was the first woman promoted to a buyer with Webb Crawford where she worked for 17 years, and she retired after 25 years as the Business Manager of the School of Forest Resources for the University of Georgia. She was a member of Winterville First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Majestic Southern Belle Red Hat Society of Athens.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Nicole Harrison of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Bobbie Shumake, Shirley Chambers, both of Winterville and Elaine Young of Comer and grandsons, Steven and Blake Harrison.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 2PM at Winterville First Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Lester officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Shumake, Allen Chambers, Brad Young, Robert Escoe, Rob Escoe, Bobby Harrison and honorary pallbearers will be Steven Harrison, Jr. and Bryce Whitley.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Winterville First Baptist Church Building Fund.
