Glenn Maurice Paul, 69 of Sandy Cross passed away on July 9, 2016. Glenn was born on October 31, 1946, the eldest son of Howard M. & Jennie Laurie Paul of Sandy Cross. After graduating high school from Oglethorpe County, Glenn Joined the U.S. Navy where he spent 4 years in active service. After leaving the service in 1969 Glenn went to work at Westinghouse where he worked for over 35 years. Glenn was married to Linda Martin Paul for over 34 years and had two children. Glenn's passion for more than 45 years was family genealogy. He was a member of Glade Baptist Church where he served as the church clerk. Glenn is preceded in death by his father Howard M. Paul, wife, Linda Martin Paul and a brother Richard Barry Paul. Survivors include his mother, Laurie Paul of Sandy Cross, sister, Lavenia (Jim) Wills, brother, Dennis (Joyce) Paul, sister, Patti Paul, brother, Russ (Tammy) Paul all of Sandy Cross, son, Rev. Derek (Lacey) Paul of Sandy Cross, daughter, Aimee (Bobby) Nix of Carlton, grandchildren, Kirsten (Kenny) Jackson, Heath Paul, Dakota Bales, Collin Nix, Hayden Nix and a great grandson, Liam Thomas Jackson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 11AM at Glade Baptist Church. His son, Rev. Derek Paul, Rev. George Ormsbee, and Rev. David Burt will officiate. Pallbearers will be, Dennis Paul, Russ Paul, Heath Paul, Dakota Bales, Bobby Nix and Kenny Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Wills, Grady Glenn, Holly Bales and Tim Poole. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends, Monday, July 11, 2016 from 6 until 9 at Lord & Stephens East Chapel.
