Gladys Lester

Athens - Gladys Inez Terry Lester, 87, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006.
A native of McDuffie County, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Ala S. Terry and the widow of Lawton B. Lester. She was preceded in death by a son, Terry B. Lester, three sisters and one brother. Mrs. Lester was the last survivor of immediate family.
She was an active member of Central Baptist Church as a member of the Victory Sunday School Class, the Boquets of Sonshine, Women in Action, and numerous volunteer services.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Central Baptist Church with the the Rev. Dr. Ben Glosson, Rev. Jeff Langley, and Rev. Dr. Frank J. Terry officiating. Mrs. Lester will lie in state from 1:00 thru 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and spouse, Blanche Templeton (Leonard), Kathryn Hensley, Frank Terry (Hazel), Rebbie Newsome (James), Carey Langham, Jr. (Dorothy), Robert Langham (Nancy), Repurta Kitchens (Broadus), Johnny Langham (Lois), Charles Lester, Nancy Davis, Susan Sims (David), Shirley Powell.
Extended family includes, Walton and Carolyn Anderson, Jeff, Tami, Bo and Mamie Maddox, Bennie Lou Wilson, Church family and friends from Central Baptist Church.
Pallbearers are Leonard Templeton, Jeff Maddox, Bo Maddox, Walton Anderson, Charles Lester and Donnie Ingram.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 thru 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
