Gladys Gertrude Cain

Gladys Gertrude Cain, 96, died October 28, 2015.

A native of Gainesville, GA, she was a daughter of the late Mary Idalia Chronic and Claud Lester Chandler. Mrs. Cain lived most of her life in Watkinsville, where she has been an active member of Watkinsville First Baptist Church and Briarwood Baptist Church. Along with church activities, she was an avid bridge player and a member of the Oconee Garden Club. Mrs. Cain will be remembered for being lovingly involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also supportive of the career of her late husband, Jeff L. Cain, a former Agriculture teacher and Superintendent of Oconee County School System.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time.

Survivors include three children, Sandra Cain of The Villages, FL, Robert "Bob" Cain and wife, Brenda of Bishop, Lynn Wood and husband, Glen of Watkinsville; grandchildren, Trey Harris, Jeff Baumgardner and wife, Carey, Brent Cain, Courtney Rue and husband, Jason, Ashley Wood, Patrick Wood, Chandler Wood and his wife, Karen; seven great grandchildren.

Please omit flowers. Memorials may be made to Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF) Building Restoration, PO Box 631, Watkinsville, GA 30677.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Lord and Stephens, WEST, Watkinsville.

Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
