Georgianna M. Havener, 86, wife of the late Millard F. Havener, died Sunday, March 29, 2009 at her residence.
A native of Longbranch, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Joseph Meagher and Josephine Emma Darragh Meagher. She was a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a Lioness with the Athens Lions Club and member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Havener was a volunteer with the Red Cross as well as Athens Regional Medical Center for many years.
Survivors include her sons; Kenneth "Ken" R. Havener of Hayesville, NC, W. Robert "Bob" Havener of Commerce, GA, David Havener-Taylor fo Nevada City, CA; daughters: Kathy H. Whitaker of Athens, Susan P. Havener of Athens, Kay Crabill of Birmingham, AL; brother: John J. "Jack" Maher of Arlington, VA; grandchildren: Adam W. Whitaker, Rachel P. Greenway, Elizabeth W. Halloran, Zachary Havener, Harry Havener, Maureen Havener, Nathan Taylor, Rosa Taylor, Sheri C. Drummonds and four great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Havener will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 2PM at Chapelwood United Methodist Church with Revs. Richard Moeller, Peggy Little andThom Shores officiating with the family receiving friends following the services. Honorary pallbearers will be United Methodist Women and the Homick Sunday School Class of Chapelwood United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Chapelwood United Methodist Church Kitchen Renovations or Vista Care Hospice.
