George Daniel "Dan" Wilson

George Daniel "Dan" Wilson, age 81, of Colbert, husband of Thelma Lowe Wilson, died on Monday, June 17, 2013.
A native of Oglethorpe County, Dan was the son of the late J. P. and Mattie Smith Wilson. He retired from Robert Burgess Construction as a construction worker, and was of the Holiness faith.
In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Frances Welch; brother, Benny Wilson; and step-son, Joe McCannon.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his brother, Tommy Wilson, and sister, Laura Nell Rogers, both of Smithonia, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, at Lord & Stephens East.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, at Crawford Cemetery, with the Rev. Chuck Tatum officiating.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home East, Athens, is in charge of the arrangements.
