George Allen Lamar

George Allen Lamar, cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the age of 73.

Born in Athens, he was a son of the late Abner F. Lamar and Thelma A. Turner Lamar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Threlkeld Lamar; three children, Michelle Lamar (Sean), Lacie Betts (Timmy) and Kyle Cowart (Hannah); three siblings, Henry Lamar (Hazel), Barbara Fletcher (Sheldon) and Rebecca McClellan; eight grandchildren, Kyle Mathews (Heather), Brantley Jones (Savanna), Keelei Cowart, Kaiden Cowart, Kyleigh Cowart, Charlie Rae Cowart, Kalley Cowart and Kendall Cowart and four great-grandchildren, Landon, Mylie, Charlee and Nova Skye.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, Danielsville. Interment will follow at Danielsville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
