George William Gabriel

It is with broken hearts that our family shares the passing of George Gabriel, 77, of Crawford, GA. He went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 26, 2025.

The son of Lois and JC Gabriel, George was retired from the University of Georgia. He worked hard all his life. He loved the Lord and was a member of Welcome Avenue Holiness Church. He enjoyed singing for His Lord.

Preceding him in death beside his parents are a daughter, Mindy Gabriel, stepson, Steve Looney, and three brothers, Dale Poulnott, Douglas and Rickey Gabriel.

George is survived by his wife, Wilma, daughter, Brooke Hull, son, Bryan Gabriel (Mona), two stepsons, Michael Estes and Keith Looney, two sisters, Geneva Stamey (Oliver), Teresa Yonce (David); three brothers Doyle Gabriel, (Judy), Dan Gabriel (Chrystal), and Terry Gabriel (Heidi), three sisters in law, Susan Gabriel and Sam Gabriel, and Vickie Long, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at Lord and Stephen’s Funeral Home East on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 2:00 with visitation Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Allen Green and Kendall Callaway will preside over the services.

Oglethorpe County Volunteer Firefighters will serve as pallbearers.
