George B. (G.B.) Freeman, Jr., 85, died October 4, 2009.
Born December 27, 1923 in Madison County, he was the son of the late George B. and
Annie Ginn Freeman. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Lee, Frank, Clinton and S.B. Freeman and three sisters, Nellie Hitchcock, Grace Gordon and Dorothy Escoe.
Mr. Freeman was a member of Bluestone Baptist Church in Danielsville. He was a former member of Friendship Baptist Church for many years where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. Mr. Freeman was retired from farming and as custodian of the U.S. Post Office.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the graveside at Danielsville Memorial Gardens with Revs. Ray Jenkins and Dayton Logan officiating.
Survivors include two sisters, Gladys Rowland of Anderson, SC and Callie McLeskey of Hartwell; several nieces and nephews and two special nieces who helped care for him, Mary Smith of Comer and Barbara Pulliam of Royston.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday for one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 until 2:00 PM.
Lord and Stephens Madison Chapel, Danielsville is in charge of arrangements.
