George Ferguson

Colbert - George Lewis Ferguson (Ted), 74, passed away in his sleep Friday, February 18, 2011 at his home. Born in Arnoldsville, Oglethorpe County, he was the son of Doris Lord Ferguson Hill and Lewis Edward Ferguson. His grandparents were Grover and Eunice Strickland Lord, Dow Wesley and Sally Burke Ferguson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents and his twin sister, Joyce Louise Ferguson. He is survived by sons, Christopher Brian Ferguson (Melnita) and David Scott Ferguson, and three additional children; grandchildren, Jacob, Suzanna, Abigale and Kevin, and eight additional grandchildren; sisters, Gail Ferguson Fuller and Janie Ferguson Caplan; and brother, Jeffrey Ferguson. He has one living aunt, Geneva (Peggy) Pilgrim. Mr. Ferguson was retired from the U.S. Air Force following twenty years of service. Funeral services will be Monday, February 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Lord and Stephens, EAST is in charge of arrangements.
