George Weldon "G.W." Eades passed away on August 18, 2022 at the age of 92, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 19, 1929, son of Annie Lou Huff Eades and Johnny T. Eades.
In addition to his parents, G.W. was preceded in death by his sister and brothers, Lourene Eades Norton, Eugene Eades, R.C. (Buster) Eades, Jack Eades, and a double first cousin who grew up like a brother, Donald Eades.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Caroline Anthony Eades; son, Thomas (Rhiannon) Eades; grandchildren, Jessa Patrick and Henry Eades; sisters-in-law, Nancy Eades and Tina Eades Jordan; a number of nephews, nieces and cousins.
G.W. was employed for over 30 years in the contract sales department of the McGregor Co. He retired more recently from the U.S. Postal Service.
A devoted Christian, G. W. was an active member and elder of High Shoals Christian Church where he served in various capacities throughout the years.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 3:00pm at High Shoals Christian Church with Rev. Jeff Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park. Pallbearers will include David Eades, Jim Eades, John Eades, Dale Hogsed, Jay Sykes and Bill Sosebee.
Visitation will be Friday, August 19 from 5:00 until 7:00pm at the funeral home.
