George Nelson Adair

Hull, GA - George Nelson Adair, 86, died January 5, 2013.
Born in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late John Boyce and Nora Youngblood Adair. Mr. Adair was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Margo Mullins Moon, Dixie Adair Turbeville and Matthew Adair, and great grandson, Hunter Turbeville.
Affectionately known as "Big Daddy", Mr. Adair was a dedicated family man who was loved and will be missed by his family and many friends that he leaves behind. He has made his home in Madison County since 1954, was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and was retired from the U.S. Soil Conservation Service following 42 years of service. Mr. Adair was a longtime active member of Hull Baptist Church where he served in numerous capacities including Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was an honorary lifetime member of the American Red Cross as a volunteer and dedicated many years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Condrey Adair; children, Terry (Vicky) Adair of Hull, Nancy (Bill) Jervis of Hull and Donna (Danny) Erwin of Vesta; brother, Jimmy Adair of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Ashley Mullins, Cory Adair and Adair Erwin; great grandchildren, Megan Moon and Kayla Petty; great great grandchildren, Braxton and Bryson Sorrow; step grandchildren; Darren and Peter Jervis and his best friend, Lloyd Carter.
Graveside services will be Monday, January 7, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Hull Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. The family will receive friends in the Family Life Center following the service.
