Colbert, GA - Henry Eugene "Gene" Martin, 82, died January 15, 2009.
A native of Clarke County, GA, he was a son of the late Will and Rosa Dixon Martin. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Beatrice Seagraves, Dessie Mae Seagraves, Thelma Tumbleston and Annie Sue Edwards. He was owner and operator of Martin Appliance for over twenty years and was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Hull Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Hull Baptist Church with Revs. Randy Crowe and Dennis Kesler officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Thompson Martin; children, Mike and Vicki Martin, Kip and Tonda Martin, and Eddie and Missy Huff; grandchildren, Wade and Nichole Martin, Wes Martin, Chelsea Anderson, Jessica Martin, Josh Anderson, Emma Huff and Josh Huff; great grandchildren, Caroline and Catie Mae Martin, Reid and Lilli Martin; brother and sister-in-law, Ovin and Sally Martin; sister, Vera Brewer.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
