Gene Jackson Henson

Gene Jackson Henson, husband of Joyce Elder Henson, passed away in his home Friday April 21, 2017 at the age of 61. Born in Cuthbert, GA and raised in Fort Gaines, GA, he was the son of the late Andrew Jackson Henson and the late Elsie Winona Mills Henson. He was an avid reader and sports fan, especially when it came to Georgia Bulldogs football. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to all, as he rarely met a stranger. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons: Andrew (Mickel) Henson of Seattle, Washington, Jamison Henson of New York, NY; five sisters: Cherry Narramore, Nan (Bill) Selman, Penny Childers, Jennifer (Kenny) Mason, Jocelyn (Ric) Warnock; two grand children: Scout and Lincoln Henson. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11AM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
