Watkinsville - Gearl Martin Collins Jr., 46, died November 23, 2009.
A native of Barnwell, S.C., he was a son of Gearl Martin Collins Sr. of Aiken, S.C., and Shirley Ann Powell Collins of Barnwell, S.C. In 1998, Dr. Collins earned his Doctrine of Education from the University of Georgia and taught agriculture for twenty years at Greene County High School. Dr. Collins was also an Eagle Scout.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 28, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST. Interment will be in Oconee Memorial Park.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Beth Collins; two children, Sam Collins and Katie Collins, all of Watkinsville; and brother, Mitchell (Kirsten) Collins and their son, Mason, all of Aiken, S.C.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
