Hull - Gale Strickland, 61, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008.
A native of Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Dillard F. and Mozelle James Phillips. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James Douglas Phillips, Utah Phillips, Belton R. Phillips and a sister, Genomie Patrick. Mrs. Strickland was a member of Union Baptist Church.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2008, at Union Baptist Church with Revs. Billy Owensby and Ben Smith officiating.
Survivors include her husband, James H. Strickland; son and daughter-in-law, Sammy and Beth Brooks of Colbert; step-son, Bert Strickland of Hull; two sisters, Louise Dudley of Commerce, Sue Minish of Shiloh; three brothers, Thomas M. Phillips, Danny Wayne Phillips, both of Royston, Bobby Phillips of Canon and two step-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Madison/Oglethorpe County Animal Shelter or Athens Regional Medical Center Palliative Research.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
