Crawford - Freddie D. Nation, 80, of Crawford, died Saturday, June 11, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Sylvia, N.C., he was the son of the late Fred D. and Bertha Ward Nation, and father to the late Danny Nation. He had worked for Rainwater Construction and Alloy Construction as a welder. He was a member of Welcome Avenue Congregational Holiness Church and was active with Devils Pond Volunteer Fire Department Fund Raising.
Survivors include his wife, Willie L. Nation; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Alicia Nation, of Loganville, Donald and Rhonda Nation, of Lawrenceville, Doyle and Annie Nation, of Buford; brothers, Harold Nation, of Warner Robins, Ora Nation, of Atlanta, Glen Nation, of Killen, Ala.; sisters, Mary Johnson, of Lexington, Joan Marable, of Maxey, Eva Nation, of Talmo; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2011 at Welcome Avenue Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the North East Georgia Cancer Care. Lord and Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of arrangements
