Statham - Fred Whatley, 39, died Saturday, September 22, 2007 at his residence.
Born in Newton County he was the son of Patricia Thomas Whatley and the late Stewart Swan Whatley. Fred was a member of Ross Chapel Baptist Church where he was a deacon, trustee and Sunday School Teacher of the Teenage Class. He was a supervisor for Pike Electric where he had worked for 20 years.
Survivors in add to his mother include his wife of 16 years, Kerri Whatley, daughters: Kelsey and Kaylee Whatley; brothers: Stewart Swan Whatley, Robert Ozane Whatley, Jeff Whatley; sister: Ellyn Cannington and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Ross Chapel Baptist Church at 3PM with Rev. Jason Rowe officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Queen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Self, Adam Layfield, Brandon Thornton, Steven Whatley, Stewart Whatley III, Brian Goad and honorary pallbearers will be Lacie Thornton and Katlin Harvey.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ross Chapel Baptist Church.
